Leeds United managed to pick up a 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic yesterday evening.

Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that he felt Kemar Roofe played well for Leeds United last night.

Roofe was handed a rare start for Leeds in their match against Wigan Athletic, which ended as a 1-1 draw.

The 23-year-old has generally had to watch from the sidelines since moving to Elland Road last summer.

But Monk was impressed by the impact that the skilful wide-man had, after he was given the nod ahead of Alex Mowatt.

“I thought he did well,” Mowatt said. “He’s not had a massive amount of minutes, but I thought he contributed well to the game. He was constantly involved and that will do him good, those minutes.”

Roofe still has started only three Championship matches for Leeds, and he appears to be searching for match sharpness.

At Oxford Roofe has been a prolific scorer, but he is yet to hit the back of the net for Leeds.

It remains to be seen whether Roofe will keep his place in Leeds’ starting line-up, with Monk’s side’s next match coming against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
