Brendan Rodgers has made an excellent start to life at Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers has admitted to the Scottish Herald that he has been surprised by the lack of egos in Celtic’s squad.
Rodgers admits that he generally has to deal with a number of big personalities, but at Parkhead he has had no such problems.
The Northern Irish boss instead claims that every Celtic player has listened attentively to his ideas.
“Am I surprised? Yes, because in the modern footballer there is a lot of ego,” he said. “This group has no ego. This group come in every day, and we have set a standard from the first day in terms of training and what we expect on and off the field, and these guys are looking to deliver it.
“They might not always be at their best but they have given their best every day and I think that tells you where we are at. We have 28 players, a full batch available, and four goalkeepers, and they all respect they will push one another all the time.”
Rodgers has made an impressive start to life at Celtic, and they have certainly improved since their time under Ronny Deila.
Celtic are currently unbeaten in domestic action, and they appear to have a chance of claiming third spot in their Champions League group.
Celtic are currently sitting four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and they have a game in hand on many of their rivals.
Celtic are next in action this evening, when they take on Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.
