Baggies boss Tony Pulis discussed his January transfer plans during an interview with the Birmingham Mail.

Pulis wasn't shy in splashing the cash over the summer, as he brought in five players to the Hawthorns, including the club record £13 million paid for Nacer Chadli.

The Birmingham Mail report that Baggies owner Guochuan Lai met with Pulis and club chairman John Williams to discuss plans for any kind of potential spending in January.

Pulls spoke to the Birmingham Mail, and admitted that whilst there is money to spend, it will have to be used wisely:

"I think there is money there for January. I think that is a point that has been made but there’s not bundles of money. We're not going to be spending hundreds of millions of pounds. There is money there to spend and we've got to be clever and astute in what we do and the way we do it."

West Brom have made a fairly solid start to their Premier League campaign, and currently sit in 12th position in the table, with their defensive solidarity and organisation being the cornerstone of their impressive start.

Many predicted that the Baggies would struggle this term, but just two losses from their opening eight league games sees them sitting comfortably in mid-table.

If they can recruit smartly in January, a top-10 finish would certainly not be out of the question for West Brom, and surely that would have to be seen as a success for a season that began with such trepidation from the fans and media alike.
