The Sun are reporting that Southampton are considering a January swoop for Rennes star Paul-Georges Ntep, after the player refused to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 side.

The Sun also claim that Rennes' Ligue 1 rivals Lyon are considering throwing their hat into the mix for the explosive winger.
Ntep is wonderfully versatile, and is equally proficient at playing in the centre of midfield as he is playing out wide left.
The Saints have managed to turn their season around, following a slow start to life under Claude Puel, and now find themselves sitting comfortably in eighth position in the Premier League table.
The South Coast outfit are currently in the midst of a seven-game unbeaten run, and their next challenge is a trip to the San Siro to take on Inter Milan on Thursday night.
Puel already has an incredibly strong squad at his disposal at St Mary's, and with the potential acquisition of Ntep in January, Saints fans have the right to be excited about the prospect of what could be a very successful season.
