Newcastle have been in sparkling form of late with their performances seeing them climb into second in the Championship.
Newcastle United Manager Rafael Benitez
It has been a superb few weeks for Newcastle with their performances seeing them maintain their title push. Rafael Benitez is finally getting the best out of his talented side and things could get even better for them, as the Chronicle Live have reported that the manager has been give a quadruple fitness boost ahead of their game against Barnsley.
Newcastle were once again in fine form against Brentford as they swept their opponents aside in a comfortable 3-1 win. A double from Dwight Gayle and a goal for Ciaran Clark proved to be more than enough for the Magpies as they made it eight wins for the season.

With Huddersfield losing to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, Newcastle were able to move up into second place, with only Norwich standing between them and the top. The Magpies will be desperate to claim another victory then, as it would cause the pressure on the Canaries to mount massively.
The only blight on Newcastle's recent weeks is their injury list. However, Rafael Benitez, speaking to the Chronicle Live, said: "Lascelles was a little bit sick the other day but he’s fine and Ritchie is fine. So some good news. The others are still progressing well."
"Daryl Murphy has completed a full training session and I am really pleased for him".

“Rob Elliot has also been training with the goalkeepers. He’s fine".
It seems then, that all of the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together for Newcastle, with their manager getting the best out of the players and their injury list starting to thin. Most promisingly though, is the update Benitez gave on Rob Elliot: "He’s doing well. For me, two or three weeks will be fine. He’s with the keepers and doing well, I was watching him the other day and he was fine".
Elliot has been out of action since last season after picking up a knee injury on international duty, and his return will be a welcomed one with the goalkeeper the most talented option Newcastle have between the posts.
