Preston's John Welsh in action with Aston Villa's Jack Grealish
Preston North End midfielder John Welsh has been gushing with praise for the club on their official website after extending his contract another year.
32-year-old Welsh has been an integral part of Preston’s squad for the last four years, having signed from Tranmere Rovers in 2012. Since then, he has proven an astute acquisition having been voted Preston North End Player of the Year award in his debut season as well as helping secure promotion to the Championship via the 2014/15 League One play-off final.

So, it comes as no shock that Welsh could not be happier to have extended his deal at Deepdale.
“I'm delighted. I've enjoyed every minute since I signed here and to extend it by another year is really exciting.
"From the minute I drove up the M6 and saw the stadium to now, I've enjoyed every minute.
"There's no other place you would want to come in day to day and work. We have a great management, great staff, a great bunch of lads and I enjoy working with everyone at the stadium so there's no better place to play and to work.”

Welsh remains an important part of the Preston setup, having played in every league game this season and completing the full 90 minutes in all but two of North End’s outings this term.
The midfielder, who has made over 130 league appearances for Preston, will be hoping to add to this record when the Lilywhites host third-placed Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.
