Leeds United's manager Garry Monk
Garry Monk and his Leeds team were unable to kick start their campaign after the international break as they fell to a disappointing loss against struggling Derby County.
It was a game in which both sides would feel they deserved to take all three points, unfortunately for Leeds though, they left with nothing. Positively though, Garry Monk gave an injury update on Liam Bridcutt to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
A single goal from Johnny Russell was enough to separate the two sides on Saturday, and the loss now leaves Leeds in 13th in the Championship, three points ahead of Derby in 19th.

It will disappoint Monk that Leeds did edge the stats throughout the game, but in the most important stat of all they lost out. Possession wise, Leeds had 53% overall, while they managed 13 shots to Derby's nine.
It is fair to say it was a disappointing loss for Leeds as they were unable to take advantage of Derby changing coaches so close to the game.
However, their was some good news for Monk as he gave an injury update on Liam Bridcutt to the Yorkshire Evening Post: "He’s still got a period to go and it’s going to take time but he’s well on schedule".

"He’s rehabbing well and hopefully he can be out on the grass with us pretty soon".
Cover in midfield is exactly what Monk needs as the experienced Bridcutt has been missed since he picked up his foot injury against Blackburn Rovers.
Leeds now face struggling Wigan Athletic at home as Monk's side look to ignite their campaign after a disappointing weekend.
