Reports emanating from Germany today suggest that Inter Milan are preparing a £27 million January bid for long-term Tottenham and Liverpool target Jonas Hector, according to German media outlet Express.
The FC Koln full-back attracted interest from the Premier League throughout the summer, but despite reports suggesting that both Spurs and Liverpool are considering moves for the German again in January, it is unlikely that the Reds will match the reported £27 million asking price, after refusing to go above £20 million in the summer, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Germany's Jonas Hector reacts
Hector, 26, is a highly experienced international, with 24 caps for the German national team, and is a left-back by trade, although he can also be deployed in midfield.
Express go on to claim that both English clubs will intensify their scouting of Hector as a direct response to Inter's increased interest in the German.

Hector, with his versatility, would be a useful addition to any of the clubs mentioned, but the question has to be asked whether or not Tottenham actually need him, with four players already fighting it out for the two full-back spots.
Liverpool are the club out of the three who could be deemed most in need of left-back reinforcements, and with manager Jürgen Klopp's German connections, it would not be entirely surprising if he attempted to bring the 26-year-old to Anfield in January.
