According to Calcio Mercato, AC Milan are interested in signing Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic, with an alleged valuation of £18m on his head.

The Saints have switched their system under new manager Claude Puel this season, with the Frenchman bringing his 4-3-1-2 formation to the South Coast.

That meant that Tadic – often used out wide by former boss Ronald Koeman – was handed the chance to play as a number 10 for Southampton, serving as the creative spark behind strikers Nathan Redmond and Charlie Austin.

So far, Tadic has impressed for the Saints, and whilst his record of one goal and zero assists looks disappointing, he has had a great impact on Southampton’s attacking play.

On Sunday, Tadic hit the headlines with a superb display for Serbia against Austria in their World Cup qualifier, as he bagged two assists and the winning goal in a 3-2 win for his country.

It’s now five goals in his last six international games for Serbia, and his performances appear to have attracted the interest of Serie A side AC Milan.

Calcio Mercato claim that Milan have registered an interest in signing Tadic, who is represented by the same agency – Friends and Football International – as fellow Milan target Milan Badelj of Fiorentina.

It’s stated that Milan haven’t done anything more than add Tadic to their wish list, but the playmaker is allegedly valued at €20m (£18m), and it will now be interesting to see whether Milan do make a move to sign Tadic in January.
