There are few players more exciting in European football right now than Julian Brandt, and he could spark a transfer war very soon.
In demand Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has revealed to German outlet Express that he would be open to a move abroad amid reported demand from the Premier League.
Manchester United and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old in recent months following an astounding end to the 2015-16 Bundesliga season, in which he became the first teenager since the legendary Gerd Muller (below) to score in six consecutive games.
And, although he admits that he has no desire to fly the Bay Arena nest in the near future, Brandt revealed that he may give some thought to a move abroad if he maintains his current trajectory.
“I do not have a set career plan. You cannot really plan things in football. But I am of course always considering my options,” Brandt told Express.
“A move abroad could be an interesting option, but Bayern Munich are always an interesting option as well.
“But I do not see Leverkusen as a stepping stone. I am not thinking about a transfer. I am taking things one step at a time. I still have goals I want to achieve here. I want to be more consistent and score more goals.”
Brandt cemented his place as one of German football’s most exciting talents by winning three caps for the senior national team while seizing a silver medal at the Rio Olympics as the star of Horst Hrubesch’s talented Under-23s.
And the dynamic forward could cap a remarkable breakthrough year with the prestigious Golden Boy award, although he faces stiff competition from the likes of Marcus Rashford, Dele Alli and countryman Leroy Sane (below).
