Former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sunday Oliseh has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi could become Africa’s best player.

The former Nigeria international defensive midfielder made the prediction during the game between Burnley and Arsenal at the weekend.

Arsenal took on Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Iwobi started the match and played for 71 minutes, as the Gunners won 1-0 to maintain their challenge for the Premier League title.

Oliseh believes that the 20-year-old, who can play as a winger or as a forward, is potentially Nigeria’s best player.

Iwobi is a very promising and talented young footballer, and he is starting to show what he is capable of for Arsenal.

The Nigeria international has created seven chances in five Premier League appearances for the Gunners so far this season.

It is a bit too early to suggest that the youngster can become Africa’s best player, but there can be no doubt that he is a talented footballer.

Arsenal are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 16 points from seven matches, just two points behind leaders Manchester City.
