It is international break and the transfer window does not open for another three months, but that does not stop the football gossip.

Here is a look at two players linked with signing for Manchester United during the past 24 hours.

Alejandro Grimaldo

Spanish newspaper Sport report Manchester United are scouting Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.

Grimaldo, 21, signed with Benfica in January from Barcelona, where he had played regularly for their B team.

United are claimed to have sent scouts to watch Grimaldo in action, while Manchester City are also keen.

The stumbling block over a deal is a staggering 58.5 million Euro release clause [£51m], while Barcelona would inherit a percentage of any fee.
