Sunday afternoon saw arguably the game of the weekend in the Premier League as Tottenham Hotspur hosted Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

Both sides had started the season in fine form, going unbeaten in their first six games to set out their title intentions early on.

There was also the interesting subtext off the pitch as old managerial rivals Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola faced off for the first time in the Premier League.

It proved to be a happy occasion for the home side as they put on a scintillating display to secure a 2-0 win and inflict a first defeat upon Guardiola.

Before the game, we identified attacking midfielders Christian Eriksen and David Silva as the men to watch, with the Spaniard coming out on top in the stats.

So it seems only right to find out which of the two had the better afternoon at White Hart Lane.

And the stats reveal it was once again Silva who was the better as he came out on top in six of the eight areas looked at.

The City star managed more accurate passes, more successful final third passes and more key passes than the Danish international.

Silva also enjoyed a better overall passing accuracy, registering a tally of 84% compared to Eriksen’s 74%.

He came out on top when it came to dribbles while he also lost possession on fewer occasions, 13 times compared to 19.

The only area that Eriksen came out on top in was when it came to shooting, registering more shots and more shots on target than Silva, who did not manage any in either regard.
