Reports emanating from Spain suggest that Everton and Liverpool are both interested in signing Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams, although his €50 million release clause could prove to be somewhat of a sticking point, according to Don Balon.

The 22-year-old Spaniard is highly rated in his home country, and has just recently notched up his first international appearance for Spain.

The report claims that it is Juergen Klopp's desire to build a team of talented youngsters at Anfield, whom he can develop and mould into great players, and the German sees Williams as an ideal fit.

Don Balon also suggest that Everton boss Ronald Koeman is very keen on the Bilbao front-man.

His versatility that enables him to play on both wings or through the middle as an out-and-out striker is said to be a key factor in the Toffees desire to being him to Goodison Park.

Williams has done little to justify his extortionate release clause thus far this season, with no goals in six La Liga appearances, but it is obviously his potential to become great that has attracted the Merseyside clubs.
