Tottenham's Vincent Janssen celebrates scoring their third goal with team mates
Vincent Janssen got off the mark at Tottenham against Gillingham on Wednesday night, and his performance in general should give Spurs supporters room for optimism following the disappointing news of Harry Kane's injury.
The Dutchman started the game against the Gills, and he was an impressive performer throughout as the North Londoners dominated the game from start to finish.
It took former AZ star Janssen a number of attempts to open his Spurs account, with the 22-year-old finally scoring from the spot after Kieran Trippier had been tripped in the box, but the link up play he displayed with fellow first teamers Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela, alongside the work rate that has already endeared him to the White Hart Lane faithful, looked very promising.

Throughout the match Janssen worked hard against the Gills defence, dragging them from their positions and leaving space for the likes of Eriksen and Lamela - something that was exploited time and time again.
The Spurs striker headed just wide, and then forced goalkeeper Stuart Nelson into a good save, as well as taking it past the Gills man and seeing an effort cleared from the goal line.

Janssen also set up Lamela's goal with a deft pass into the winger's path.
All in all, it was a particularly Harry Kane like performance, and as he was withdrawn with 15 minutes to spare, allowing for Marcus Edwards' debut no less, it is certain he will get another chance to impress against Middlesbrough at the weekend.
