Leeds United finally have a very solid centre-back pairing.
Leeds United may have had a slow start to life under new manager Garry Monk, but their last three matches suggest the former Swansea City boss has got them firing now.
Wins against Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City in the Championship and another victory against the former in the EFL Cup may not set the pulses racing but they were necessary after the Whites slipped perilously close to the bottom of the table.
Tellingly, Leeds also did it conceding just one goal and keeping clean sheets in their last two matches.
It is no coincidence that new fan favourite Pontus Jansson started both league matches alongside fellow summer loan signing Kyle Bartley, and while the Swede sat out the cup clash he will be back for the upcoming game against Ipswich Town.
Bartley was always going to take time to settle at Elland Road, and the same could be expected of Jansson, but the two have quickly formed what could be the Whites’ best central defensive partnership since they were in the Premier League.
It is hard to think of better, and such has been their impact that Monk and Leeds owner Massimo Cellino should do everything in their power to ensure the pair are signed up permanently sooner rather than later.
Leeds have been out of the top flight for far too long. However in Jansson and Bartley they have two players who could not only get them back to the promised land, but who would not look out of place once they get there.
