Strong 4-2-3-1 line-up with changes: Predicted Manchester United side to play Northampton

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Here is how we predict Manchester United and Northampton Town will line up this week:

Odds: Northampton 8/1, Draw 9/2, Man Utd 3/10

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Manchester United are having a tough time right now, recently losing their third consecutive game when they crashed 3-1 away to Watford on Sunday.

Things were looking bright at the start of the season, with new United boss Jose Mourinho quickly winning the Community Shield and guiding the club to three straight Premier League victories.

Then the Manchester derby happened and United were given a footballing lesson by Pep Guardiola’s side, while a Europa League defeat against Feyenoord was quickly followed by that setback at Vicarage Road.

As a result, United cannot afford to lose their fourth game on the bounce in the EFL Cup against Northampton Town or the pressure on Mourinho will increase a hundred-fold.

United were expected to rest a number of key players for this clash and that could still be the case, but do not expect any untried youngsters to get a chance with the Red Devils – and their manager – in dire need of a confidence-building win.
