Leicester City produced one of the greatest ever footballing feats last season in winning the Premier League title.

Leicester City defender Robert Huth has shared what gave his side the motivation to go on and become Premier League champions last season, as quoted by the Express.

The Foxes eventually won the league by an incredible 10 points, but the German explained how it was their loss to title rivals Arsenal in February, and the Gunners subsequent premature celebrations, which spurred them on and made them even more determined to succeed, as quoted by the Express:

“For me the key point was when we lost to Arsenal. Everyone was celebrating, they were doing selfies. Even though we were still top. A few of the lads stuck a few those pictures up and it got the blood boiling. It gave us an extra yard in the next few games.”

Claudio Ranieri’s men have failed to emulate last season’s exploits so far this term though, and currently sit in 11th position, in what was always going to be an extremely difficult campaign.

They will have to be at their absolute best in the coming weeks, with league games against Manchester United, Southampton and Chelsea mixed in with a Champions League tie against Porto.

The Foxes are resilient if nothing else, however, and they have already proved their doubters wrong this season with a magnificent 3-0 win away at Club Brugge in their Champions League bow.

If they could finish in the top-four this season, it would have to go down as a resounding success, and would anyone be willing to bet against them?
