Huddersfield Town won the West Yorkshire derby today to continue their brilliant form at the start of the Championship campaign.

Aaron Mooy’s brilliant goal leaves the Terriers top of the Championship table, however Leeds United are currently third from bottom and in the relegation zone.

The club’s poor form continued in the game. Leeds were dreadful in a negative performance against David Wagner’s electric Huddersfield and Leeds fans were rightly left disappointed at this poor result.

The result has cast further doubt over the future of Garry Monk.

Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan believes that it was one of the worst performances from Leeds he has ever seen. He told BBC Radio Leeds:

“They didn’t look organised to me.

“There was no structure to our game.

“It was just poor. We didn’t even look like scoring.

“When did we actually put a pattern of play together?

“We’ve got no fight in that side. That is one of the worst Leeds performances I have seen.”

There is little doubt that Uwe Rosler was sacked for less this time last season and Monk needs to find his best Xi, formation and strategy fast or he will be looking for a new job, with Massimo Cellino surely starting to twitch that trigger finger of his.
