Leeds United youngster Mallik Wilks is a talented and promising forward.
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has been quoted as saying by The Yorkshire Evening Post that Mallik Wilks is not in his plan at the moment.
Wilks is a highly rated and promising young forward who is playing for the Leeds Under-23 side at the moment.
The teenager is in good form at the moment and appears to be a player who could break into the first team soon.
Earlier this month, the 17-year-old forward scored for the Leeds Under-23 side against their Crewe Alexandra counterparts at Elland Road.
Leeds head coach Monk has been quoted as saying by The Yorkshire Evening Post that he would have loved to sign another striker in the summer transfer window.
Given Wilks’s talent and Leeds’s tradition of giving young, homegrown players the chance to showcase their quality for the first team, the teenager could be an option as the season progresses.
Monk, though, has stated that the 17-year-old forward is not in his plan at the moment.
“He’s not a player for me to discuss right now,” The Yorkshire Evening Post quotes the former Swansea City manager as saying about Wilks. “We are very focused on the group that we have (first team).”
Leeds will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Huddersfield Town at Elland Road in the Championship.
