Leeds United sold their star youngster Lewis Cook to Bournemouth this summer, but should they make a move to bring back one of their former stars before the transfer deadline shuts this evening?

The player in question is Max Gradel.

The Ivory Coast international is, according to the Daily Mail, available for loan at Bournemouth after falling out with manager Eddie Howe.

It would be fair to say that Gradel was something of a fan favourite at Leeds. During his time at Elland Road he played 85 games, scoring 25 times and became popular with Elland Road fans for his exciting displays.

But he left Leeds after two-and-a-half seasons in 2011. He moved to Saint-Etienne in France where he soon became equally as popular.

Leeds are said to want a new striker. Whilst Gradel is better known as a winger, he played through the middle during times with Saint-Etienne – with aplomb. He scored 13 goals in his final 12 games for Les Verts, playing through the middle.

It would undoubtedly be the dream deadline day signature from Leeds – but will no doubt be a difficult deal to push through.
