Reports emanating from Spain suggest that Espanyol are in advanced talks with Watford over a potential deal to sign Allan Nyom, according to Marca (confirmed via Sky Sports News Live Transfer Feed).

The 28-year-old Cameroonian joined the Hornets last summer from Udinese and went on to make 32 Premier League appearances for the Hertfordshire outfit.

Marca claim that the La Liga side are in deep negotiations with Watford and are hopeful of getting the deal over the line today.

Espanyol are managed by former Hornets boss Quique Sanchez Flores, and considering that the Spaniard brought Nyom to Vicarage Road, a move for the defender seems to make sense.

Nyom seems to be out of favour with new Watford boss Walter Mazzarri, and has not made a single Premier League appearance this term, with his only outing coming in the Hornets' League Cup defeat to Gillingham.

The 28-year-old still has three years remaining on his contract at Vicarage Road, and while Marca do not mention the fee involved in any potential deal, Watford would stand to make a profit if they do go on to sell Nyom as they brought him in to the club on a free transfer.
