Aston Villa have made a move for Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah, HITC Sport understands.

The 28-year-old is a popular figure at The Riverside and has played nearly 150 games for the club since joining from Bristol City in 2013.

Talks over a new deal have not progressed well and Villa have now made a move, and are ready to offer him more than Middlesbrough are willing. Adomah has less than 12 months left on his current deal.

Middlesbrough are already in the market for a new winger and Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu is amongst their preferred targets, but it is unlikely the Merseysiders will be willing to sell before next week’s transfer deadline.

Uruguayan Cristhian Stuani is set to continue in the Boro team on Sunday for their clash at West Bromwich Albion after his impressive display against Sunderland, and it remains to be seen whether Adomah will be involved at The Hawthorns.

HITC Sport understands that Wolves and Newcastle United are also ready to make a move for him as they look to bolster their Championship promotion bids – whilst Premier League outfits Southampton, Crystal Palace and Burnley are also monitoring the situation.
