Man City fans watched on in shock as they were drawn against the Spanish giants last night.

Perhaps the biggest talking point of the entire Champions League group stage draw was the eye-catching prospect of a Manchester City vs FC Barcelona shootout, with Pep returning to face his former club with his new employers City.

The club, who have also been drawn against Scottish champions Celtic and German side Borussia Monchengladbach in Group C, tasted their first real continental success last season, as they reached the semi-finals.

Now they will be looking to go even further in the tournament, under a manager that is no stranger to Champions League success himself.

Whilst City fans do seem wary of the threat that a match against Barca poses, they remain confident that they can progress from the group they’ve been handed. That said, there is a worry that such a tricky Champions League draw may hinder the progress of their side in the league.
