Manchester United's Phil Jones
According to The Sun, Stoke City are eyeing a loan deal for Manchester United’s Phil Jones.
The report claims that the former Blackburn Rovers defender is not in Jose Mourinho’s plans at United and as a result Stoke have identified hm as an ideal option to bolster their defence.
Jones came through the youth ranks at Ewood Park and soon established himself as one of the brightest defenders in England, prompting a big-money move to Old Trafford.

The England international has since become a member of United’s first-team squad, yet a lack of an established position has often seen him play in varying positions without proper progression.
While his versatility means he is a useful player to have round, his lack of expertise in any one position means he is now considered back-up in an extremely strong looking United squad.
New boss Jose Mourinho has strengthened his defence with the addition of Eric Bailly, and as such Jones has ultimately been knocked further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Stoke started the campaign with a solid 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough, yet their latest 4-1 home defeat to Manchester City has shown their defensive weaknesses and it needs addressing.
Mark Hughes is keen to make one or two more additions before the transfer deadline and with Jones out of favour, The Sun claim the Potters see the 24-year-old as an ideal loan option.
