Derby County fans have taken to social networking site Twitter in order to share their views on the signing of Manchester United’s James Wilson on a season-long loan deal.

The Rams announced the deal via their official website moments after the club’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa - their second 0-0 home draw of the season after a previous stalemate with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Nigel Pearson has been reluctant to add to his expensively-assembled squad this summer, yet a subdued start to the season has caused the former Leicester City’s boss to dip into the market.

The Rams, arguaby one of the favourites for promotion, have kept an impressive four clean sheets in their five games to date but worryingly only two goals have been scored at the other end.

Joint top goal scorers are defenders Richard Keogh and Craig Forsyth, illustrating that a lack of firepower is evident at the iPro and as such Wilson has been drafted in ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline.

The United academy product spent last season on loan at Brighton where he managed to notch five times in 25 appearances, including a strike on his first start for the Seagulls in a 3-2 win over Charlton Athletic.

Wilson will provide the Rams with fresh impetus upfront and different characteristics to duo Chris Martin and Darren Bent - a seemingly import factor in the decision to bring him in.
