The Dane was not so great for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur picked up their first Premier League win of the season by beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Summer signing Victor Wanyama was the hero as the Kenyan midfielder headed home on 83 minutes to get Tottenham - who drew 1-1 at Everton last weekend - up and running for the new campaign.
The Danish playmaker's future at the Lilywhites is somewhat uncertain amid ongoing negotiations for a new contract, with Juventus reportedly willing to meet the 24-year-old's £150,000-a-week salary demands according to Gazzetta World.
Despite the speculation, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino elected to start him against the Eagles and Eriksen simply did not seem to be at the races, before Pochettino hauled him off after 68 minutes.
One moment in particular seemed to sum up the Dane's afternoon when he led a counter-attack but scuffed the ball at goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey rather than play in the unmarked Kyle Walker or Harry Kane.
Eriksen sucked, Janssen should´ve scored and Ajax were terrible— Nick (@ItweetAjax) August 20, 2016
@tomallnuttPA Eriksen's drop in performance is really worrying. He was so good when he first arrived.— Theo Fitzpatrick (@theofitz00) August 20, 2016
@SpursStatMan how many challenges/battles Eriksen s**t himself over— Joe Gibbens (@GoeJibbens) August 20, 2016

Pochettino says Eriksen unaffected by contract speculation but can't be helping. As poor today as I can remember. #thfc— Tom Allnutt (@tomallnuttPA) August 20, 2016
I think it's time to bench Eriksen for his own good, hasn't been himself recently. Need to sit at least one game and come off the bench.— RayTard (@Nxstra) August 20, 2016
