Andre Green was also disappointed with the result.
Aston Villa took on Derby County in the Championship yesterday, playing out a 0-0 draw. It was a game they could have easily won – as they hit the woodwork twice in the first 45 minutes.
The result though was possibly fair given the balance of play and Villa fans will still be pleased with the level of performance as the club continue to adapt to life in the second tier.
There was one concern however.
Rudy Gestede of Aston Villa heads at goal
Striker Rudy Gestede had to leave the pitch after seemingly suffering a hamstring injury and was replaced by Czech international Libor Kozak.
Speaking on Twitter after the game the Benin international was disappointed that Villa did not secure the win over Nigel Pearson’s side. He also clearly has his fingers crossed that his injury is not too serious:
Disappointed not to win but every point counts! Shame about the injury-hopefully not too seriousThank you to the travelling fans #UTV— Rudy Gestede (@RudyGestede) August 20, 2016
Another Villa player who took to Twitter after the game was Andre Green – as he got another appearance in the first-team.
The 18-year-old came on in the second-half and again showed evidence of his talent:
Disappointed about the result today after the chances we created but a points better than nothing #Avfc— André Green (@AndreGreen_) August 20, 2016
Villa take on Bristol City in their next Championship fixture and will be hoping to pick up all three points at Ashton Gate.
