According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have asked Manchester City about a loan deal for Wilfried Bony.

The Hammers had been on the hunt for a striker all summer, seeing moves for the likes of Michy Batshuayi and Alexandre Lacazette failing, as reported by Sky Sports and L’Equipe respectively.

West Ham appeared to have ended their hunt earlier this month when they completed the signing of Andre Ayew from Premier League rivals Swansea City.

However, his move quickly turned disastrous when he picked up an injury on his debut against Chelsea on Monday, with him set to miss four months of the season as a result.

That leaves West Ham manager Slaven Bilic needing another striker once again, and it appears he has already made a move to try and rectify the issue.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers have already approached Manchester City with a loan bid for striker Wilfried Bony.

Bony is expected to leave the Etihad this summer and the report claims that he has several options available to him, but would be interested in a move to the London Stadium.

However, it is unknown whether Pep Guardiola is willing to sanction a loan deal for the Ivorian striker.
