West Ham United are interested in signing Antonino Ragusa from AC Cesena in the summer transfer window, according to Alfredopedulla.com.

It has been reported that West Ham have been impressed with Ragusa’s performances in Serie B and in pre-season.

Cesena will reportedly demand at least €2.5 million (£2.16m) plus performance-related bonuses in order to part company with the 26-year-old, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.

West Ham are not the only club interested in Ragusa, according to Alfredopedulla.com, with Sassuolo also claimed to be keeping tabs on the attacker.

According to Football Italia, Ragusa scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 38 Serie B games last season.

The second tier of Italian football is not exactly a great league, but Ragusa is a decent player.

West Ham have proved in recent years that they can sign talented little-known players from lesser or lower leagues, and Ragusa could prove to be a good signing.

The Hammers lost against Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in London in their first Premier League match of the season on Monday evening.

Slaven Bilic’s side will take on Bournemouth at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
