Reports in France are suggesting that Everton have agreed a deal with Lyon for their Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal.

Le Progres report that Everton have come to an agreement with Lyon to sign the player. The report claims Everton have agreed a deal of €11 million (£9.5 million) for the player, with a 20 per cent resale figure if he departs Goodison Park.

However, there is a twist.

Ghezzal, whose contract at Lyon expires at the end of the season, has also been contacted by Southampton manager Claude Puel – according to the report.

Southampton are also keen on signing the player and he is not yet sure of where to head this summer.

The Algerian international has impressed for Lyon in the past two seasons and the 24-year-old now looks set to find himself a new challenge going forward.

Puel will know Ghezzal from his time in French football and is obviously impressed by what he has seen.

Everton meanwhile are rebuilding under new manager Ronald Koeman and the signing of the winger would be a superb piece of business from the Toffees.
