Reports in Turkey are suggesting that Besiktas are moving on from their hope of buying a big-name striker to replace Mario Gomez this summer – and have instead set their sights on the signature of Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede.
Haberler are reporting that the Turkish side are set to move on from their big-money hunt and go with a more functional option, with the Benin international on their shortlist.

The report does go on to claim that Gestede is happy at Villa and a move to Besiktas might not be likely.
In January most Aston Villa fans would have happily welcomed the idea of selling the striker. He struggled for form in the Premier League as the club finished bottom of the league.

However, in a catch-22, their demotion saw Gestede return to happy hunting grounds in the second-tier.
The big striker has a good record at this level with former club Blackburn Rovers and has started the season well for Villa, scoring two goals in his opening four games.

Now he is perhaps at his level, many a Villa fan will not want to see Gestede depart at this juncture.
