Leeds United's Chris Wood celebrates after scoring their second goal
Leeds United picked up their first win of the Championship season today. Goals from strike pair Marcus Antonsson and Chris Wood proved enough for the club.
It was also Garry Monk’s first win for the club within 90 minutes and came in a week where, almost ridiculously, questions were already being asked about his future at the club.

The win also came against their Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday, which gave it extra resonance.
The Leeds fans in attendance certainly enjoyed the final result, whilst a couple of interested spectators probably enjoyed the game as well.
Scotland manager Gordon Strachan and former Leeds manager Howard Wilkinson in the stands
Strachan was likely there checking up on Scottish international hopefuls such as Barry Bannan, Ross Wallace, Liam Bridcutt and Liam Cooper.
However, considering he spent six years as a player with the club – winning the Football League Second and First Division during his time with the club – he likely enjoyed the end result.

Wilkinson was Strachan’s manager during his time at Leeds, but also spent time as a manager and player with Wednesday – as well as previously being a director at the club.
Both looked to be in good spirits as they caught up and hopefully Leeds put in a performance the pair were proud of.
