Celtic picked up another thumping win under Brendan Rodgers as they beat St Johnstone 4-2 in the Scottish Premiership  this afternoon.

The Bhoys had thrashed Hapoel Be'er Sheva 5-2 in midweek to put one foot in the Champions League group stages, and were on the goal hunt again as they took on St Johnstone.

First-half goals from Leigh Griffiths, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest had put Celtic 3-0 up by the break, but St Johnstone threatened a late fightback with goals from Danny Swanson and Steven McLean, only for Ryan Christie to round off the scoring for Celtic in injury time.

Celtic are gathering real momentum under Rodgers, and it's now nine goals in two games from his squad, who look strong heading into Tuesday's second-leg clash with Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Rodgers deserves much of the credit, as whilst new signings such as Kolo Toure, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele have made impacts so far, his tactics have also been a far cry from what Celtic fans were used to under predecessor Ronny Deila.

Deila attempted to play attacking football, but Rodgers – aided by the signing of Sinclair – has brought fast, free-flowing football to Celtic supporters, and even former players can't speak highly enough of the new Bhoys manager.

Former striker John Hartson has been vocal in his support of Rodgers in recent weeks, and today was no exception as he took to Twitter in order to state that Celtic have 'moved onto a different level' this season.

Hartson added that Celtic have certainly got what they paid for in Rodgers, as having made an ambitious, big-name appointment, they are being rewarded with some impressive results.
