Former Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson has predicted in The Daily Record that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will make a big-name signing before the end of the summer transfer window.

Scottish Premiership giants Celtic have signed Moussa Dembele, Kolo Toure, Scott Sinclair and Dorus de Vries so far this summer.

Kristoffer Ajer had already signed a pre-contract agreement last season, while Paul Joseph Crossan is unlikely to be drafted into the first team during the 2016-17 campaign.

Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson believes that Celtic manager Rodgers will sign another player before the end of the summer transfer window.

“While Rodgers is making decisions on the touchline which are winning matches, just as he did again the other night against Hapoel Beer Sheva,” Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record.

“But I just have a feeling the new manager is not done yet and that he’s going to make at least one more top quality signing in the next few days.”

Celtic have made a strong start to the season, and it is clear that former Liverpool manager Rodgers has made a positive impact on the team.

The Bhoys are going strong in the Scottish Premiership at the moment and are favourites for the title.

The Glasgow giants are also set to progress to the group stage of the Champions League this season.

If Celtic make another big signing this summer, then they will make it very tough for the likes of Rangers, Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen to compete for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
