Tonight sees the launch of Friday Night Football in the Premier League as Manchester United welcome Southampton under the Sky television cameras.

All eyes will be on Paul Pogba as he gets ready to make his second Old Trafford bow to kick off a series of 10 Friday fixtures presented by Soccer Saturday supremo Jeff Stelling and Countdown numbers lady Rachel Riley as part of the new bumper TV deal.

Of course this is not the first time a match has been televised on a Friday night as Sky regularly shows Championship games in that slot.

It is not the first Friday night Premier League fixture either, with United's game against Aston Villa last season moved back a day due to security concerns.

However, the new schedule begins for good tonight as Jose Mourinho's side host the Saints in their first home fixture of the Portuguese manager's reign.

With just a few hours to go until it kicks off, the good folk of Twitter seemed pretty excited for the promise of Friday night Premier League games.

But not all reaction to FNF has been positive.
