Villa have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far, signing defender Tommy Elphick, goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini and striker Ross McCormack among others.

The Villans got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season and are playing in the Championship at the moment.

Roberto Di Matteo’s side lost their opening league game of the season 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday away from home.

Villa won 3-0 against Rotherham United at Villa Park last weekend and drew 1-1 with Huddersfield Town at home on Tuesday evening.
