Chelsea's Matt Miazga
According to The Mirror, Sunderland have been offered the chance to sign Chelsea defender Matt Miazga on loan to boost their options at the back.
The Black Cats snapped up Papy Djilobodji from Chelsea earlier this month, but with a fee agreed with Watford for defender Younes Kaboul according to the club's oficial website, and question marks surrounding the future of Lamine Kone, new manager David Moyes may yet want more defensive reinforcements.

After landing Djilobodji from Chelsea, Sunderland may in fact return to Stamford Bridge for another centre back having been offered the chance to sign one of the Blues' many young players on loan.
The Mirror report that Chelsea have offered Sunderland the opportunity to take Matt Miazga in a loan deal, with the defender unlikely to play much first-team football under new boss Antonio Conte.

Miazga, 21, was a surprise January signing from Chelsea, as whilst he had impressed in Major League Soccer, he had made jus 42 first-team appearances for New York Red Bulls – and aged just 20, he was signing a four-and-a-half year deal with Chelsea.
The United States international made played just twice for Chelsea last season, and is now down the pecking order under Conte, with the Blues hoping to loan him out for first-team experience.
Sunderland manager David Moyes
Sunderland did take a young American defender on loan last season, landing DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham Hotspur, and could go back to a similar formula in order to sign Miazga before this month's deadline.
Yet, having already signed one young defender in Paddy McNair from Manchester United, Moyes may not be so keen to bring in another inexperienced player at the back, meaning there is plenty for the Scot to consider if Sunderland have indeed been offered the chance to sign Miazga on loan.
