Portugal's Jose Fonte
Everton are interested in signing Jose Fonte from Southampton before the end of the summer transfer window, according to The Sun (print edition, page 54, Friday, August 19, 2016).
It has been reported by the British tabloid that Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to secure the services of Fonte this month.
According to the report, the 32-year-old defender is agitating for a move, but the Saints’ board are refusing to deal with Koeman, who left the club to become the new Everton manager earlier this summer.

Everton are not the only Premier League club reportedly looking at Fonte.
According to The Mirror, Premier League title contenders Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in signing the Portugal international centre-back this summer.
Fonte is a very good defender who has a lot of Premier League experience, and the former Crystal Palace man would be a good signing for Everton this summer.
The 32-year-old centre-back enjoyed a successful summer with Portugal, winning the 2016 European Championship in France.
Southampton will face Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Friday evening.
