Tottenham fans watch Kyle Walker
Spurs will face London rivals Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
England international defender Walker is likely to start the match at right-back.
Townsend, who joined Palace from Championship club Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, is likely to feature in the Eagles’ starting line-up.
Walker played with Townsend at Tottenham and has spoken highly of the 25-year-old England international defender.
Andros Townsend scores for Newcastle
“I think we all know the qualities that Andros has got,” Walker good Tottenham’s official website. “I played with him here for a while and then with England at international level so we all know what he can do.
“He’s a fantastic dribbler, a good ball carrier and he can shoot with either foot so he’s a danger man for them but hopefully we can deal with him as a team.
“It’s difficult to defend against his style. Whether he’s playing on my side or on the other side, your centre-midfielder has to come across and try to cut off that space if he’s going to come in and shoot.”
