Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s victory over Reading on Wednesday evening.

The Magpies registered their first competitive victory of the season, as they got the better of Reading 4-1 at home in the Championship.

Gayle, who joined Newcastle from Premier League club Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, scored twice for Rafael Benitez’s side at St. James’ Park.

Isaac Hayden and Matt Ritchie scored the other two goals for the home team.

Gayle has taken to Twitter to revel in the win against Reading, and so have Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul and defender Hayden.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. James’ Park on Wednesday evening, hosts Newcastle had 42% of the possession, took 11 shots of which seven were on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Reading had 58% of the possession, took 13 shots of which just three were on target, and earned nine corners, according to BBC Sport.

Newcastle will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Bristol City away from home at the Ashton Gate Stadium in the Championship.
