Steve Evans said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning (broadcast from 10am, August 18, 2016) that Garry Monk needs to win his next game as the Leeds United head coach.

Leeds have yet to win in the Championship this season, losing first to Queens Park Rangers and then to Birmingham City before drawing with Fulham at Elland Road on Tuesday evening.

The performance of the Whites against the Cottagers was not exactly great, and they needed an injury-time goal from Chris Wood to salvage a point from the encounter.

The West Yorkshire outfit will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Sheffield Wednesday away from home in the Championship.

Former Leeds head coach Evans believes that Monk needs to win the match against Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium.

“Garry has got to produce results,” said Evans on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning (broadcast from 10am, August 18, 2016).

“That point that they got against Fulham becomes sort of a good point if they can win at Hillsborough on Saturday. If they lose at Hillsborough on Saturday, it’s going to be tough for Garry with the owner, tough."

Leeds are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season. The Whites have to pick up all three points against Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium in order to maintain their challenge for the playoffs.
