Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the 27-year-old.
It was reported by the Daily Star this week that Tottenham were lining up a £13 million bid for the Portugal international, who won Euro 2016 last month and started the final against France in Paris.
The report did stipulate that he was a back-up option in the event that playmaker Christian Eriksen left to join an Italian club, and his agent confirmed to Noticias Ao Minuto recently that Sporting have received no offers for the 27-year-old. O'Jogo, however, report that joining Tottenham would interest the man himself.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has only signed two players this summer - Vincent Wanyama and Victor Janssen - while attempts to add Marseille winger Georges-Kévin N'Koudou have proven futile thus far.
Everton have also been linked with Silva but it remains to be seen which, if any, English club signs him.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites, who drew 1-1 with the Toffees last Saturday, host Crystal Palace this weekend in their first home match of the season.
