According to Voetbal Primeur, Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Oostende midfielder Andile Jali - but may have to sell players before they can sign him.

The Whites confirmed the signing of Torino centre-back Pontus Jansson earlier today, but manager Garry Monk may still be eyeing further additions to his side, even after securing the permanent signing of midfielder Liam Bridcutt earlier this week.

In fact, Monk may still be looking to overhaul his options in midfield. Bridcutt's arrival will solidify the middle of the park, loan signing Matt Grimes should have a chance to impress following Lewis Cook's departure to Bournemouth, and the three youth products Alex Mowatt, Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira are also in contention for places in Monk's team.

However, HITC Sport understand that Monk is looking to sell midfielders Toumani Diagouraga and Luke Murphy, and reports in Belgium suggest that Leeds have already lined up a replacement for the pair.

Voetbal Primeur report that Leeds are closing in on the signing of Oostende midfielder Andile Jali, but are waiting for the sale of a couple of players before rubber-stamping the deal.

Jali, 26, has been a regular for Oostende since signing from Orlando Pirates in 2014, but he now appears ready to make the jump to England after two years in Belgium.

A diminutive yet combative midfielder with quality on the ball and a decent free-kick-taker, Jali is believed to be Leeds' latest top target, and could arrive at Elland Road if Diagouraga and Murphy are moved on.

Jali, who stands at just 5ft 7in, has 15 caps for South Africa and could deployed in a similar role to Leicester City's N'Golo Kante in front of the back four, yet consistency appears to be an issue. Oostende are believed to be open to a sale due to Jali being 'erratic', and whilst he's shown his quality in Belgium, he may now be sold this summer.
