Aston Villa have been heavily linked with the Guinean.
Aston Villa midfield target Amadou Diawara reportedly has a deal in place to sign for Serie A side Napoli, but it is believed that agent fees are holding up any potential deal.
Radio Crc is reporting, as relayed by Football Italia, that Bologna midfielder Diawara has agreed terms on a €15 million (£12.9 million) move to Napoli.
However, the report claims the deal is being delayed over demands from his agent. The claim is that the player’s entourage are looking for a fee of €500,000 for putting the deal together – a fee that the bullish Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will not be paying.
This delay in proceedings might just open up the door for Aston Villa in the pursuit of the talented Guinean.
Yesterday his agent confirmed a bid had been lodged for his services.

Daniele Piraino was quoted by talkSPORT yesterday as stating: "It's true that there's an offer from Aston Villa, but it continues to be in Bologna's hands, I have no say."
Reports in Italy seem to suggest it is he and Diawara’s other representatives who are delaying this deal.
The 19-year-old has been linked to some of Europe’s biggest clubs and if Villa were to pull off a deal for his services it would be a massive coup for the Championship side.
