Tottenham are opening their season at White Hart Lane with a London derby on Saturday.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the club's team news ahead of their match against Crystal Palace this weekend, and it was both good news and bad news, according to comments appearing in the Ham and High.
The Argentine revealed that Heung-Min Son has returned to London after South Korea's exit at the Olympics quarter-final stage, and that there is a chance the forward will be able to feature against the Eagles.
“Son is available,” the Spurs boss said. “He arrived a little bit sad after the elimination in the quarter-finals [against Honduras]. We’ll see, we need to assess him tomorrow to see if he is in the squad or not.”

The hope was that the former Bayer Leverkusen star would win a medal, therefore meaning he would bypass the country's strict laws on national service, but it wasn't to be for the 24-year-old, who may now have a chance to feature at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Pochettino is of course still without central midfielder Mousa Dembele, as he serves the remaining three games of his suspension, and will also go into the game without captain Hugo Lloris after the French international's hamstring injury against Everton.
Tottenham's Michel Vorm
But it didn't sway the former Southampton boss from his confidence ahead of the clash against Alan Pardew's side, with Pochettino having the utmost faith in Michel Vorm's ability to step in for the Tottenham number one.
“It’s always difficult when your captain is not on the pitch but we trust in Michel [Vorm]," Pochettino said. "He’s been doing well in pre-season. He was here from day one and he played a lot of friendly games and he’s ready to compete.
“He’s a keeper that has a lot of experience in the league and is an international. There is no doubt about his quality.
“We are confident [Lloris will be ready in time for the club's first Champions League game] because it’s not a big issue, it’s a minor injury. We’ll see what happens but we hope that he’ll arrive to be available for the Champions League."
