Celtic beat Hapoel Beer Sheva 5-2 in Glasgow on Wednesday evening to take another step closer to qualifying for the Champions League group stages, and Bhoys supporters took to Twitter after the game to have their say on the match.

It was an evening that saw moments of elation as well as frustration, with a period early in the second half threatening to derail much of the good work Brendan Rodgers' men had achieved.

The Bhoys exhibited outstanding attacking football for much of the match, racing into a 3-0 lead courtesy of a superb Leigh Griffiths brace in the last few minutes of the first half.

First the Scot thumped a great header past the opposition goalkeeper, before dispatching a perfect free-kick into the top corner from fully 30 yards out.

Tom Rogic had opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes of the match, converting a loose ball from the edge of the box after a great run from Scott Sinclair to set the Bhoys on their way.

But Hapoel would go on to expose Celtic's temperamental defence, scoring twice barely 10 minutes after the restart to leave the score at 3-2 heading into the final period of the game.

If the score would have remained at that heading into the return fixture in Israel, it would have been a precarious situation for Celtic. So it was to the Scottish champions' credit that they reestablished the three goal lead through goals from Moussa Dembele and captain Scott Brown.

Below are some of the comments Celtic fans tweeted in relation to the result, with Griffiths' wonderful goals dominating much of the conversation:
