First up is news emanating from Italy that suggests West Ham are interested in signing Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic, according to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio.

The report claims that the Hammers have made contact with the 24-year-old Serbian international's agent, with Slaven Bilic keen on improving his central defensive options following the sale of James Tomkins to Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, in worrying news for Hammers fans, the club's hopes of tying down teen sensation Reece Oxford to a new contract have been dented, with Sky Sports reporting that the two parties are currently a long way apart in negotiations.

In other news, Jonathan Calleri completed his move to West Ham yesterday, and the 22-year-old spoke to the club's official website about his delight at finally sealing the switch to London:

“I am very happy to have signed for West Ham. This represents a fantastic new challenge for me and I am really looking forward to it. The Premier League is the best league in the world and so I am delighted to have this opportunity to play in such a prestigious league.”

The Argentine has signed with the East London outfit on a season-long loan deal, and will vastly improve Slaven Bilic's attacking options.

And finally, ITV Sport are reporting that the Hammers are interested in signing free-agent Hal Robson-Kanu.

The Welshman was in attendance at Stamford Bridge for West Ham's 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Monday night.
