Former Celtic striker John Hartson has backed Scott Sinclair to destroy defenders in the Scottish Premiership with his pace, speaking to BT Sport.

The winger is a new signing at the Scottish champions this summer having made the move from Aston Villa to reunite with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.

He has made an instant impact to life in Scotland, with a goal on his debut and another in the 5-0 win over Motherwell in the Scottish League cup.

He put in another solid display in the win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Champions League on Wednesday and Hartson says he believes the forward will destroy defenders in the Scottish Premiership.

“There were lots of great performances tonight [against Be’er Sheva]” he told BT Sport.

“I think Scott Sinclair, with his running and power will bring Celtic a lot in terms of what he has, especially in the SPL. I think he can destroy defenders with his pace and his ability.”

It will now be interesting to see if Sinclair does prove to be a big success at Celtic in the near future.

He has certainly made a fine start to life in Scotland, with several impressive performances under his belt so far.

If he continues how he has begun, there is no denying that he could be a star men for Celtic this season as they look to make an impact domestically and in Europe.
