Nottingham Forest supporters were left frustrated as a Scott Hogan goal just before the half-hour mark saw Brentford seal a 1-0 win and handed Philippe Montanier his second defeat since taking over at the City Ground.

Forest had chances to take something from the game at Griffin Park, but Hildeberto Pereira, Eric Lichaj and Britt Assombalonga all squandered the opportunities that came their way.

After a promising start to the campaign - Forest beat Burton in a pulsating game on the opening day and followed that up by winning against Doncaster in the League Cup - Montanier's men have been reminded that there is plenty of work left to do as the defeat to the Bees came just days after they were beaten 3-0 by Brighton.

Former Forest midfielder Guy Moussi took to Twitter after the game against Dean Smith's men and insisted that supporters should not get too downhearted as there is a long way to go in the campaign, and a lot of talent within the squad.

While some fans echoed the 31-year-old's thoughts that it is too early to write anything off yet, some supporters were less than happy about Montanier's decision to tinker with the system his side play once again, and suggested that that is work that should have already been done before the campaign began.
